2 Massage Oils To Help Alleviate Aches After A Chiropractic Adjustment

A chiropractic adjustment involves a series of rapid thrusts that a chiropractor performs on your body in order to bring it back into alignment. If you often suffer from lower back pain, then a chiropractic adjustment can be used to help eliminate some of the back pain. The first few adjustments can leave your body aching and in pain. This often happens because the movement places your body and muscles in new positions. The aches will eventually wear off on their own. Until that happens, there are a few massage oils that you can use to help alleviate some of the pain.

Basil Massage Oil

Basil is a natural analgesic that is commonly used to treat topical wounds. As an analgesic, it helps to provide pain relief for headaches, sprains, burns and more. The analgesic properties of basil oil can be used to help reduce aches and pains after your chiropractic treatment. In order to use basil oil, heat up a few cups of a carrier oil like olive oil or coconut oil in a pot. Once the oil is warm, remove it from the heat and add several drops of basil oil. Take a clean cloth and dip the cloth in the oil and use the cloth to massage the basil mixture into the areas that are causing you pain. The oil mixture should be massaged for several minutes in a circular motion.

Chamomile Massage Oil

Chamomile is considered to be a natural relaxant. The herb is frequently used in plant form in order to create teas that are used to calm the body during sickness and pain. Chamomile also functions well as a massage oil in order to alleviate pain in sore joints and aching muscles. Chamomile oil can be used by placing a few handfuls of raw shea butter in a small pot. Allow the butter to melt on medium heat on the stove. Once the butter is warm and melted, add a generous amount of chamomile oil. Remove the mixture from the stove and pour a few drops of the mixture into your hands. Use your hands to massage the mixture into the areas of your body that are aching. It is best to work the mixture in using your fingertips. This will help to smooth out any knots in your body and relax your muscles.

Regular chiropractic adjustments can work wonders on back pain. However, the procedure takes some getting used. Therefore, use these body oils to help get rid of any aches that you may experience after an adjustment. For more information, contact La Mesa Chiropractic Center or a similar location.
